Sea Turtle was the perfect house for my group of 16. The only thing that could’ve made it better for a group of adults, would be a fold out/air mattress so two couples would not need to share a room. The house is slightly different from the photos in the living room, with one couch, a small sectional, and three chairs versus multiple couches and loveseats and the arrangement still worked great for us! All beds were comfortable! It worked super well for us to have most plates and cups and even a cabinet located just outside the kitchen for snacks for a kitchen that’s on the smaller side when compared to the rest of the house. It gets hot in there and we needed to open the windows a few time while cooking - there are no screens on those windows so be mindful. We were happy to find TWO coffee pots which came in super handy! And the driveway actually can hold 8-9 vehicles and half of ours were trucks! The walkway to the gazebo and beach is not nearly as long as it looks in the photos however there is a hill on the sand to traverse which isn’t too bad. The beauty of it is from the beach in this area, your view back is of the lighthouse and not of a row of beach houses. The area is low population so the beach is incredibly uncrowded. We had three shade structures and still had room for beach games without feeling as though we were encroaching on other people and their space. This is also one of the few homes without a house across he street, so you have a beautiful marsh view and are able to watch the container ships come and go. 10 out of 10 recommend!

The owners do a great job of keeping the home updated during the off season (and we are planning to reshoot photos of some of those changes like the living room furniture soon)! We're so happy to know that you had a pleasant stay. We do try to maintain strict occupancy numbers but totally see your point about the air mattress and will share that with our property management director and homeowner. We also appreciate your input regarding the kitchen and the windows. The owner has already taken steps to order and install new screens for that area. We will take that 10 out of 10 recommendation, and hope that you will return to the home in 2025 for your next Oak Island getaway!

Great Beach Cottage

My sister booked this cottage the week of June 15-22, 2024. It was perfect for our families. Lots of room for everyone, it was great to have a perfect set-up. The kitchen is nicely set-up, all appliances worked well, easy to find everything we needed. It was a nice touch to have soft soap containers in each bathroom. We had a fantastic time. Hope to come back next year.

Perfect for our extended family. Abundant seating, dining capacity plus a game room! Screened in porch overlooking the beach with seating for at least 15 plus an 8 person dining table. Even in the COVID environment we could be together yet spread out.

Sea turtle was a great house for our large family! Loved the location. The only thing that could have made it better would be to have hot/cold water @ outside shower!
