Overall

This was our first vacation in North Carolina and Oak Island so we had really no idea what to expect. Original pictures on website have an open lot in front of this rental, but there is a new build there now and not a lot of direct view of the ocean. This needs to be updated in order to be fully transparent and people know what they're renting. Everything is clean and we appreciated the linen service which wraps each set of sheets, towels, etc. after they're washed. There was a slight smell when we first came in - maybe from being closed up for the winter? My kids said it smelled like "Grandma." It went away during the week with our coming and going. The rocker in the photo, now in the bedroom, is worn and should be replaced but fine with a sheet over it. Although the reviewer in the first review had an issue with the mattresses, we did not - and that says a lot for my arthritic hips. The rental office was very communicative about the whole process (before, during and after and very easy), willing to answer my questions pre-rental and responsive when we had an issue with both toilets. They were fixed several hours later. We would've appreciate at least a couple of beach chairs rather than having to bring them with us but this rental doesn't provide any beach things. Overall though, it was a good rental.

Julie, we appreciate you bringing the photo discrepancy to our attention. We work diligently to have all of our property images updated every 3 years to accommodate construction changes but as you can imagine with 250+ rentals, it is difficult to stay on top of it. The last photos taken of this property were done in November of 2019, and as you can imagine - last year was somewhat of a wash of being able to do very much of anything. We will pass your feedback along to the owner regarding the other items you mentioned. We also are happy that you were comfortable in the beds given your arthritic condition. Please know that if you experience any problems upon your arrival or throughout your stay, we welcome you to call the office as soon as you can so that we are able to address them - we certainly want you to be happy and relaxing during your stay! Please let us know if there is anything more that we can do to make your next visit with us better.

Overall

Nice house, needs a little TLC, Furniture in living room wasn't comfortable and mattresses need replacing. Kitchen had all the primary equipment so that was nice, would have loved a BBQ of some type or at least that there wasn't one so we could have brought ours.
