Great Home

Reviewed on 2023-10-08 by Dawn Peterson , Rochester Hills, MIeautiful United StatesOur family has been to Oak Island many times over the past 40 years, this house has been one of the best we have stayed in. In part due to the accessible features which allowed ease of access for our aging parents. In addition to the accessible features the large windows allowed viewing of the ocean even when it was too hot for our older relatives to be comfortably on the porches. The little touches such as chair cushions, sofa throws and placemats on the table were also noted and very much appreciated. All in all your home helped us to have a very enjoyable and successful beach trip, allowing our family to enjoy another vacation on beautiful Oak Island.

Great stay and location
Reviewed on 2021-06-16 by Tim , Raleigh, NC United StatesFirst trip to OKI and we had a great time! The house was perfect and had everything we needed. We had a small issue with the back door closing and emailed Guest Services and they fixed within a day. We definitely will be back and hopefully can get the same house!

Beautiful, nicely renovating beach front home.
Reviewed on 2020-09-22 by M CarterThis is a wonderful beachfront home. Very clean and freshly renovated. Located directly beside a public access point, so it’s an easy walk down to the beach. The deck provides a wonderful view while relaxing, with very comfortable patio furniture and shower head for getting the sand off after a day at the beach. The kitchen is nicely equipped with far more utensils and cookware than we typically see in a rental home. Mattresses were in good condition for a comfortable night’s sleep, and both bathrooms included luxurious large showers. There's a below home parking spot (plus large driveway for more cars) and a ramp on the back deck making the home partially handicap accessible. The neighbors on one side appeared to live there (non rental) and were very quiet. And Oak Island tends to be a quite relaxing destination anyways, so noise wasn’t an issue. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable stay at the beach.

This was our second visit to Pelican Point. The house is wonderful. The kitchen is fully stocked. It even has a crock pot. Most beach homes in Oak Island have awful frying pans. However, Pelican Point's cookware was excellent! I love the covered porch and the view from the upper deck. Beautiful view of the ocean. It is convenient to restaurants and shopping. The downfalls of this home is it sleeps 8 but with only 7 chairs for dining. The table is round and no room to walk around it. A square table would work so much better so when you are eating you don't have to get up and down to let someone else sit down. The walk to the beach is a little rough. The sand dune is really high and not really suitable for the elderly. One of the beds was full of sand. We had to clean before we could put our linens on. I didn't call cleaning service because I didn't wan't anyone in the home when we were not there. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.
