Reviewed on 2020-11-19 by Kathryn Flanigan , Charlotte, NC United StatesWe took advantage of remote learning and working from home to move to The 19th Hole for a fall month. We kept waiting to miss home and our own beds, but we truly never did - this home is so comfortable and spacious with an unforgettable view of the ocean and marsh. We enjoyed having visitors from home and as hosts always having enough space for everyone at the beautiful long table (seats 12 comfortably) and bed space to spare. I loved having the kitchen so open to the living area and ocean, aways there. The windows are brand new and we enjoyed sliding them open on mild days. The master bathroom has been updated, which we enjoyed, but other baths are in fine working order but dated. This is a 5-bedroom house PLUS "the crow's nest" with 2 nice trundle beds; arguably the favorite room in the house with 360 views. Margaret Rudd was always quick to respond to any needs. This end of the island is so special. We ran to the east end most mornings for the sunrise over Bald Head Island. Grateful for the opportunity to stay in this beloved family home.

Beautiful living space
Reviewed on 2020-10-19 by ChristinaOur family of four loved our week at the beach. The 19th hole is a very comfortable home. Our favorite aspect of the house was the layout of the common area. The kitchen had everything we needed and it faced the ocean (for large parties, there is a second fridge in the laundry room). The dining table was beautiful as was the living room. The furniture was in great shape, comfortable chairs and couch and very nice, elegant decor. We also loved the nook off the dining area. It was wonderful to be able to look out on the ocean from the whole common area. The beds were comfortable, the lay out allowed for us to spread out. We loved the top floor with 360 views. The only down side was that the cleaning crew should have done a more careful job of cleaning. Margaret Rudd and Assoc. addressed the issues. We hope for other guests that they will find the house to be much cleaner. It also seems like there are still a few areas of the house that need updating to match the modern updates of the main area. We loved hanging out in the hammock on the closed deck. We would definitely return for another week at the 19th hole. Thank you for sharing this great place.

SPECTACULAR!
Reviewed on 2020-10-06 by Jackie Hedgecock , Thomasville, NC USAThis house and the views you are blessed with all day and night are both SPECTACULAR! We chose this house for several reasons..it's interior design, spaciousness, the location and ease to access the beach. This was the first time in 10 years we were all able to get together at the same time. And this time we wanted to include our very spoiled 4-legged family members. They had never been to the beach and being 10 and 8 years old we wanted to share our love for the beach while they can still enjoy it. Being oceanfront and with an easy gradual decline to the beach, this was so perfect for them (and us, too, since we aren't exactly spring chickens). It was wonderful to be able to all be together in a space that didn't make us sit on top of each other. That's the biggest sectional I've ever seen! If I had to comment (I certainly don't want to use the word complain) about anything it would be that the outside of the house could use some maintenance and the outdoor areas around the house are very overgrown. I fully believe that is what is contributing to the crazy amount of mosquitoes and bugs that attack you when trying to enjoy the outdoor spaces. A grill would have been a plus, as well. No matter the "wish list" I truly hope we can visit again same time next year!!

Old cottage with lots of room for our family! Everyone had their own space! Kitchen well equipped. Extra fridge in laundry room was wonderful. Our family had a great week with lots of family time, good food, & made lots of wonderful memories! Thanks for sharing your home! We have booked it for next year! Highly recommend! It would be nice to have cable tv, grill, table & chairs on side porch.

2019 Family Vacation
Reviewed on 2019-08-04 by Mark Chaney , Jackson, OH United StatesThese pictures do not do this home justice. Upon entering the home, the first thing you notice is the spectacular view and all the new updates and decor made to the home. It is a very spacious, beautifully decorated, and family orientated. We had 12 people with us and did not even use one of the bedrooms. The beach was amazing, very clean and secluded with only a few people. We had the privilege of seeing several turtle nests where the kids got the chance to watch a hatch-ling make his way to sea. The beach is a very short walk across the dunes with mostly decking leading your way. We enjoyed the board games, the smart televisions, outdoor showers, and the beach chairs that were all included with the house. The inside of the home is beautiful, we had the privilege of being the first family in the home since the renovations were done. The outside however is very mis-leading. I hope they continue to update the outdoor exterior to match the beautiful inside interior. The kitchen was somewhat stocked, I did buy a cork-screw and left there for future guests. I would have liked to have seen a mixer or a masher and more cereal bowls for the kids. The outside deck outside the master bedroom was not complete (maybe the are still working on it) . An outdoor eating area would be awesome with table and chairs to dine on while hearing the waves crash to the beach. There is a slight smell in the master bathroom, I think the venting needs to be looked at. Also, an outdoor grill would have been amazing also. This was probably my favorite family vacation I have ever had and we would most definitely book the 19th hole again in the future.

We really enjoyed our Thanksgiving week stay at the 19th Hole! The decor was beautiful, and the kitchen was fully stocked , so we had no problem preparing a big holiday meal for our family. The house was clean & spacious, so all of us had space to spread out. There was a great selection of games as well for family time! The location was excellent! And the short private walk to the beach was one of our favorite things about this property. This house had many windows with beautiful views of the marsh and the ocean! There was even a dog bowl of water waiting for our fur baby when we arrived, making her feel welcome as well! Thanks as always to Margaret Rudd & Assoc. for their professional, & friendly staff.
